David Baker has won the Event #66: $1,500 Limit Hold’em in the 2019  World Series of Poker. Steve Baker had to be resilient to overpower a strong field that comprised of 541 players. From the onset, Baker started strongly and was the chip leader at the end of Day 2 and Day 3. He won $161,139.

Apart from the first-place cash prize, he also won a WSOP gold bracelet taking his bracelet tally to two. He won his first WSOP bracelet during the 43rd edition of WSOP after taking down Event #37: $2,500 8-Game Mix for $271, 312.  Also, building up to the 2019 WSOP, Baker had bagged more than $1 million when he won the WPT L.A. Poker Classic.

Here’s what he had to say after the win:

“It was a huge burden. All my friends had more bracelets than me, so I’ve been really wanting to get No. 2 for a long time and finally did. I’m thrilled. I think it’s pretty obvious I wear my heart on my sleeve when it comes to the WSOP and what it means to me.”

He also disclosed that he had several prop bets with a bunch of his friends

“I have six or seven bracelet bets, a few for more than others, so just to bring those home [was nice]. I live for the pressure and I wanted it.”

David Baker wins the final table

The final table began immediately after Greg Mueller, Danny Woolard, and Kenneth Donoghue were eliminated in 9th, 8th, and 7th places respectively.
